Solidarity tourism
Our solidarity trips are mainly implemented in remote areas situated in rural, desert as well as mountain zones. Apart from the fascinating and charming effects of their picturesque and inspiring landscapes and sceneries, these isolated areas provide a fertile ground for an intuitive perception of the world, an enriching opportunity for exchange and therefore an authentic discovery of oneself and the other.
Nevertheless, such meetings wouldn’t actually be satisfactory if they weren’t based on mutual interaction. Thus, visits to these target areas will be a shared experience that will largely be beneficial to local communities
TALAMANZOU
At the outset, the project was implemented by our travel agency in the primary school of Talamanzou, a village situated at the mountain foot of the Western Moroccan High Atlas, about 50 kms to Marrakech. The stakeholders involved in this project included the School Council in Charge of Planning and the local agencies working on local development issues. The partnership between all these stakeholders derives its strength from shared attitudes towards the question of sustainable tourism.
The major underlying idea of this kind of partnership is to enable the tourist to become a type of visitor donator. Thus he will play a considerable role in local development. The procedures followed to achieve such objectives are the following:
• Tourists are offered guided visits in the village and the regions nearby ( horse ride, cycling, by quads or on foot)
• Tourists are enabled to establish a direct contact with the local community
• Tourists will be given the opportunity to learn about the community tangible and intangible cultural heritage (Food, music…)
• For accommodation, tourists will enjoy and discover sleeping in local and authentic houses.
Our Project Achievements
Working in collaboration with local stakeholders enabled us to identify their immediate needs.
• So we started by fitting in a Multi Functional Room within the Talamanzou primary school
• Close collaboration among the different stakeholders to work on community based issues
• Further efforts were made to boost and promote a sustainable tourism in the area with the aim of enabling the community to benefit from tourism downfalls.
