The Association ATTADAMOUN Demnate
The Association ATTADAMOUN for disabled persons in Demnate:
The association :
Attadamoun was born in 1998 at the initiative of parents of disabled children in Demnate wishing to offer their children a course of best treatment to enable them maintaining and developing their motor low skills or mental. After two years of difficult start, the association was able to launch its activities effectively in 2000 with the ONG Caritas, in Demnate with 5 instructors to support children.
The "center" includes a hall, four classrooms and a small kitchen. Each instructor is responsible for 5 to 7 children grouped by age and type of disability. They propose activities between 9 am and 11:30 in the morning (with a snack around 10 am) and from 14 to 16 h (with snack) every day of the week.
The center continuously is welcoming between 30 to 50 children aged 6 to 29 years with disabilities and diverse (motor disabilities more or less heavy, deaf and dumb, with various mental disabilities Down syndrome), which makes it a very personalized care complex.
Medical facilities are very limited in Demnate; there is no therapist, psychiatrists, educators, able to provide a comprehensive medical management in favor of children. The instructors are trained to brief their employment, but the lack of training is very important.
Its goals
- To facilitate the social integration of disabled people.
- Ensure appropriate education of the disabled.
- Provide medical examinations for the poor in order to identify at the earliest possible disability.
Its projects :
The association would like to take over the lunch of children by creating a small canteen, in order to avoid long and painful journey.
- It would also provide transportation for children who come from across the region and some remote areas with inadequate roads.
- It also examines an expansion with a new location and the provision of specialized equipment to take care of the influx of new disabled children who must be supported.
Its main achievements :
The center hosts a permanent forty children and young adults with disabilities, divided into five classes with a special one for deaf-mutes and a special class for Down syndrome. These children are supervised by 5 paid instructors, who received training from time to time from other associations: Koutoubia (Marrakech), Achourouk (Ouarzazate), SOS Children's Villages (Dar Bouazza) ...
